[2] Rosemary Oil (Hương thảo), Clove Oil (Đinh hương) và Cedarwood Oil (Tuyết tùng) là những loại tinh dầu được cho là có tác động tiêu cực đến mẹ bầu vì có thể gây kích thích tử cung, gây ảnh hưởng đến hormone và gây kích ứng da. Mặc dù nồng độ sử dụng chúng trong mỹ phẩm thường rất nhỏ và được cho là có rủi ro thấp nhưng để đảm bảo an toàn thì mẹ vẫn nên hạn chế sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa các loại tinh dầu này trong thời gian mang thai.
[3] Các thành phần chống nắng hóa học có thể hấp thụ qua da và 4 trong số đó là Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate & Avobenzone hiện vẫn đang gây tranh cãi về nguy cơ gây rối loạn nội tiết tố cho người dùng. Ngoài ra, chúng còn có thể gây kích ứng cho làn da nhạy cảm. Do đó, để đảm bảo an toàn, mẹ nên hạn chế sử dụng các sản phẩm có chứa 4 thành phần này trong thời kỳ mang thai. (Nguồn EWG).
[4] Fragrance /Parfum trên nhãn sản phẩm đại diện cho một hỗn hợp không được tiết lộ của nhiều loại hóa chất và thành phần tạo mùi hương. Nó có nguy cơ gây kích ứng da. Thành phần này cũng có thể hấp thụ qua da và được tìm thấy trong sữa mẹ. Đặc biệt, Fragrance thường chứa Phthalate – một loại dung môi giúp cố định hương thơm nhưng có thể hoạt động như hormone và can thiệp vào nội tiết tố cơ thể. Ngoài ra, các công bố gần đây từ Harvard còn cho thấy rằng việc mẹ tiếp xúc với Phthalate trong thời kỳ mang thai có thể làm tăng khả năng trẻ gặp các vấn đề về kỹ năng vận động và phát triển ngôn ngữ. [5] Talc có thể bị nhiễm sợi amiăng, gây nguy cơ ngộ độc đường hô hấp và ung thư. Tuy nhiên, theo công bố mới nhất của FDA vào ngày 5/4/2024 về việc thử nghiệm 50 mẫu mỹ phẩm có chứa Talc thì kết quả cho thấy “Không phát hiện amiăng trong bất kỳ mẫu nào trong số 50 mẫu được thử nghiệm”_(Nguồn FDA). Dù vậy, điều đó không có nghĩa là Talc có trong tất cả các loại mỹ phẩm trên thị trường đều hoàn toàn không chứa Amiăng. Để đảm bảo an toàn tốt nhất, mẹ vẫn nên hạn chế sử dụng các sản phẩm có chứa Talc dưới dạng bột (có thể hít vào) để hạn chế rủi ro về sức khỏe ở mức thấp nhất.
