[1] Cam Thảo là một chất tạo hương vị thường được sử dụng trong một số loại bánh kẹo tại châu Âu. Tuy nhiên, việc tiêu thụ quá 500mg/tuần ở phụ nữ mang thai đã được ghi nhận có nhiều khả năng sinh trước tuần 38 (Nguồn Cosmeticsinfo). Tuy nhiên, đây là con số tiêu thụ qua đường ăn/uống, không phải đường bôi ngoài da. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate và Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract là 2 thành phần có nguồn gốc Cam Thảo được sử dụng phổ biến nhất trong mỹ phẩm và chúng đều tan trong nước. Điều đó có nghĩa là chúng rất khó để thẩm thấu qua hàng rào lipid trên bề mặt da. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate không phát hiện được trong khoang thụ thể khi thử nghiệm khả năng thẩm thấu qua da (Nguồn Cosmeticsinfo). Như vậy, các thành phần cam thảo khi bôi tại chỗ sẽ không hấp thụ qua da quá 1%. Ngoài ra, cam thảo được sử dụng trong mỹ phẩm thường có nồng độ thấp (không quá 5%). Như vậy, nếu sử dụng một hủ kem dưỡng da mặt có khối lượng 100g có thể dùng tối thiểu trong 2 tháng thì lượng cam thảo chỉ chiếm khoảng 5g. Trong đó, chỉ 1% của 5g là 0,05g (tương đương 50mg) cam thảo có thể hấp thụ qua da. Ngoài ra, sản phẩm được dùng trong 8 tuần thì lượng cam thảo hấp thụ qua da mỗi tuần chỉ khoảng 6,25mg. Con số này nhỏ hơn rất nhiều so với mốc 500mg/tuần có thể gây nguy cơ sinh non. Do đó, việc sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa Cam Thảo trong thời gian mang thai thường có rủi ro không đáng kể. Tuy nhiên, để đảm bảo an toàn tốt hơn thì mẹ nên hạn chế sử dụng mỹ phẩm dưỡng da toàn thân có chứa Cam Thảo hoặc tham khảo thêm ý kiến từ bác sĩ.
[2] Phenoxyethanol được cho là có ảnh hưởng tiêu cực đến trẻ sơ sinh. Năm 2008, FDA từng cảnh báo người tiêu dùng không nên mua Kem núm vú Mommy’s Bliss vì có chứa Phenoxyethanol làm suy yếu hệ thần kinh ở trẻ bú mẹ. Tuy nhiên, theo công bố của American College of Toxicology, Phenoxyethanol không gây độc cho phôi thai hoặc thai nhi ở liều lượng có thể gây độc cho mẹ. Do đó, thành phần này có thể sử dụng trong thời gian mang thai nhưng nên hạn chế sử dụng ở những vùng da có thể tiếp xúc với bé khi đang cho con bú. Dù vậy, để đảm bảo an toàn tốt hơn, mẹ nên tham khảo thêm ý kiến từ bác sĩ.
[3] Salicylic Acid có thể hấp thụ qua da với một lượng nhỏ. Tuy nhiên, các nhà nghiên cứu đã kiểm tra kết quả của những phụ nữ sử dụng Acetylsalicylic Acid liều thấp trong thời kỳ mang thai và không thấy sự gia tăng nguy cơ về các tác dụng phụ như dị tật, sinh non hoặc nhẹ cân cho trẻ khi sinh ra. Do đó, mẹ có thể cân nhắc về việc sử dụng các sản phẩm chăm sóc da mặt có chứa BHA < 2% trong thời gian mang thai. Tuy nhiên, để đảm bảo an toàn tốt hơn, mẹ nên tham khảo thêm ý kiến từ bác sĩ. [4] Chlorphenesin là chất bảo quản đã được Hội đồng chuyên gia đánh giá thành phần mỹ phẩm CIR kết luận an toàn khi dùng trong mỹ phẩm và các sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân. Nó cũng được Liên minh Châu Âu cho phép sử dụng làm chất bảo quản trong mỹ phẩm và các sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân với nồng độ tối đa là 0,3%. Tuy nhiên, các dữ liệu khoa học cũng cho thấy rằng Chlorphenesin được hấp thụ qua da, mặc dù tốc độ hấp thụ thấp hơn tốc độ chuyển hóa và bài tiết. [5] Propylene Glycol là một thành phần dung môi, dưỡng ẩm và tăng cường thẩm thấu có nguy cơ gây kích ứng da. Mặc dù nồng độ sử dụng của nó trong mỹ phẩm thường khá nhỏ (< 2%) và được cho là có nguy cơ thấp nhưng nếu sở hữu làn da nhạy cảm, mẹ vẫn nên cẩn thận khi sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa thành phần này. [6] Theo Hiệp hội các nhà trị liệu bằng hương thơm chuyên nghiệp quốc tế IFPA, các loại tinh dầu tạo mùi thơm: Bergamot Oil (cam berganot) và Lemon Oil (chanh vàng) có thể sử dụng khi mang thai với nồng độ pha loãng dưới 1%. Tuy nhiên, phụ nữ mang thai sẽ có làn da nhạy cảm và dễ bắt nắng hơn do sự thay đổi nội tiết tố. Do đó, việc sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa tinh dầu thơm có thể gây kích ứng hoặc khiến các vấn đề về da trở nên trầm trọng hơn. Thế nên, mẹ hãy cân nhắc khi sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa tinh dầu thơm, đặc biệt là trong 3 tháng đầu thai kỳ.
[7] Glycolic Acid đã được nghiên cứu trên chuột và cho thấy có sự ảnh hưởng đến thể chất của con non khi cho chuột mẹ sử dụng với nồng độ từ 300mg/kg/ngày liên tục trong 20 ngày thông qua đường uống. Trong khi đó, chuột trưởng thành sẽ nặng khoảng 12 – 40g. Như vậy, mỗi ngày lượng Glycolic Acid được hấp thụ sẽ chiếm từ 2,5 – 0,75% trọng lượng cơ thể chuột. Con số này có thế gấp tối thiểu 100.000 lần so với lượng Glycolic Acid mà một người có thể hấp thụ vào cơ thể khi sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa khoảng 10% thành phần này. [8] Fragrance /Parfum trên nhãn sản phẩm đại diện cho một hỗn hợp không được tiết lộ của nhiều loại hóa chất và thành phần tạo mùi hương. Nó có nguy cơ gây kích ứng da. Thành phần này cũng có thể hấp thụ qua da. Đặc biệt, Fragrance thường chứa Phthalate – một loại dung môi giúp cố định hương thơm nhưng có thể hoạt động như hormone và can thiệp vào nội tiết tố cơ thể. Ngoài ra, các công bố gần đây từ Harvard còn cho thấy rằng việc mẹ tiếp xúc với Phthalate trong thời kỳ mang thai có thể làm tăng khả năng trẻ gặp các vấn đề về kỹ năng vận động và phát triển ngôn ngữ. Do đó, mẹ nên hạn chế tối đa việc tiếp xúc với Phthalate bằng cách tránh sử dụng các loại mỹ phẩm có chứa Fragrance. (Nguồn EWG và Harvard Health)
[9] Các thành phần chống nắng hóa học có thể hấp thụ qua da và 4 trong số đó là Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate & Avobenzone hiện vẫn đang gây tranh cãi về nguy cơ gây rối loạn nội tiết tố cho người dùng. Ngoài ra, chúng còn có thể gây kích ứng cho làn da nhạy cảm. Do đó, để đảm bảo an toàn, mẹ nên hạn chế sử dụng các sản phẩm có chứa 4 thành phần này trong thời kỳ mang thai. (Nguồn EWG).
[10] Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy có mối quan hệ giữa việc tiếp xúc với Parabens trước khi sinh và kết quả khi sinh như cân nặng, tuổi thai và chiều cao ở phụ nữ mang thai. Cụ thể, nồng độ Methyl và Propyl Paraben trong nước tiểu của mẹ tỷ lệ thuận với cân nặng khi sinh ở những bà mẹ có kiểu gen GSTM1 và GSTT1-null. Nói cách khác, việc hấp thụ Paraben có thể dẫn đến tình trạng tăng cân khi sinh ở phụ nữ. Do đó, thành phần không được khuyến cáo sử dụng khi mang thai. (Nguồn MDPI)
LƯU Ý:
- Bất kỳ một sản phẩm nào, dù được đánh giá là an toàn nhưng vẫn có thể gây kích ứng cho một số người có cơ địa đặc biệt. Do đó, mẹ nên ngưng sử dụng mỹ phẩm và tham khảo ý kiến bác sĩ nếu làn da có biểu hiện lạ.
