[1] Glycolic Acid và Lactic Acid là các Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) có tác dụng tẩy tế bào chết. Chúng có thể gây kích ứng da nếu dùng với với nồng độ cao, thường trên 5% có thể gây kích ứng đối với làn da nhạy cảm hoặc lần đầu sử dụng. Do đó, mẹ nên cẩn thận khi sử dụng. (Nguồn EWG [1] [2])
[2] Theo Hiệp hội các nhà trị liệu bằng hương thơm chuyên nghiệp quốc tế IFPA, tinh dầu hoa hồng – Rose Oil có thể sử dụng khi mang thai với nồng độ pha loãng dưới 1%. Tuy nhiên, phụ nữ mang thai sẽ có làn da nhạy cảm hơn do sự thay đổi nội tiết tố. Do đó, việc sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa tinh dầu thơm có thể gây kích ứng hoặc khiến các vấn đề về da trở nên trầm trọng hơn. Thế nên, mẹ hãy cân nhắc khi sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa tinh dầu thơm, đặc biệt là trong 3 tháng đầu thai kỳ.

[4] Fragrance /Parfum trên nhãn sản phẩm đại diện cho một hỗn hợp không được tiết lộ của nhiều loại hóa chất và thành phần tạo mùi hương. Nó có nguy cơ gây kích ứng da. Thành phần này cũng có thể hấp thụ qua da. Đặc biệt, Fragrance thường chứa Phthalate – một loại dung môi giúp cố định hương thơm nhưng có thể hoạt động như hormone và can thiệp vào nội tiết tố cơ thể. Ngoài ra, các công bố gần đây từ Harvard còn cho thấy rằng việc mẹ tiếp xúc với Phthalate trong thời kỳ mang thai có thể làm tăng khả năng trẻ gặp các vấn đề về kỹ năng vận động và phát triển ngôn ngữ. [5] Các thành phần chống nắng hóa học có thể hấp thụ qua da và 4 trong số đó là Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate & Avobenzone hiện vẫn đang gây tranh cãi về nguy cơ gây rối loạn nội tiết tố cho người dùng. [7] Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy có mối quan hệ giữa việc tiếp xúc với Parabens trước khi sinh và kết quả khi sinh như cân nặng, tuổi thai và chiều cao ở phụ nữ mang thai. Cụ thể, nồng độ Methyl và Propyl Paraben trong nước tiểu của mẹ tỷ lệ thuận với cân nặng khi sinh ở những bà mẹ có kiểu gen GSTM1 và GSTT1-null.
