[1] Glycolic Acid là Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) có tác dụng tẩy tế bào chết. Thành phần này có thể gây kích ứng da nếu dùng với với nồng độ cao, thường trên 5% có thể gây kích ứng đối với làn da nhạy cảm hoặc lần đầu sử dụng. Do đó, mẹ nên cẩn thận khi sử dụng. (Nguồn EWG)
[2] Phenoxyethanol từng được ghi nhận là gây suy yếu hệ thần kinh trung ương và gây nôn mửa, tiêu chảy ở trẻ sơ sinh khi nuốt trực tiếp thành phần này từ kem bôi núm vú khi bú mẹ (Nguồn Campaign for Sage Cosmetics). Do đó, mẹ nên tránh sử dụng mỹ phẩm có Phenoxyethanol ở những vùng da bé có thể tiếp xúc và nuốt phải như ngực, ti. Tuy nhiên, hiện chưa có báo cáo cho thấy Phenoxyethanol khi được hấp thụ qua da có thể đi vào sữa mẹ và đủ lớn để gây hại cho trẻ sơ sinh với nồng độ sử dụng theo quy định hiện tại là < 1%. Thế nên, mẹ có cân nhắc sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa thành phần này ở những vùng da ít tiếp xúc với bé. Dù vậy, để đảm bảo an toàn tốt hơn, mẹ nên tham khảo thêm ý kiến từ bác sĩ.

[4] Fragrance /Parfum trên nhãn sản phẩm đại diện cho một hỗn hợp không được tiết lộ của nhiều loại hóa chất và thành phần tạo mùi hương. Nó có nguy cơ gây kích ứng da cao. Ngoài ra, việc sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa mùi thơm cũng có thể khiến bé cảm thấy bị khó chịu do có mùi lạ. Do đó, nếu sở hữu làn da nhạy cảm, mẹ nên cân nhắc cẩn thận khi sử dụng mỹ phẩm có chứa hương liệu nhân tạo. [5] Salix Alba (Willow) Extract (vỏ cây Liễu trắng) được xem là nguồn chiết xuất Salicylic Acid. Tuy nhiên, các Salicylate trong vỏ cây liễu cần phải có enzyme trong dạ dày mới có thể chuyển hóa thành Saliyclic Acid. Mặt khác, ngay cả bản thân Salicylic Acid cũng khó có thể được hấp thụ hoặc xuất hiện đáng kể trong sữa mẹ khi dùng với một lượng nhỏ trong mỹ phẩm (Nguồn National Library of Medicine). Do đó, cả Willow Bark Extract và BHA đều được xem là an toàn khi sử dụng trong thời gian cho con bú. Các nghiên cứu cho thấy thành phần này khó có thể được hấp thụ hoặc xuất hiện đáng kể trong sữa mẹ khi dùng với một lượng nhỏ trong mỹ phẩm (Nguồn National Library of Medicine). Tuy nhiên, trong sản phẩm Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, thành phần Salicylic Acid đứng gần đầu bảng và không được công bố về nồng độ cụ thể.
